Alta Montaña, Argentina

Alta Montaña Excursion

A full day excursion travelling across the mountain range-circuit called "Alta Montaña", next to the Mendoza River.

Along the road, different places of great historical and touristic interest can be visited, such as Potrerillos Valley, Uspallata Valley, Ranchillos, with its old indigenous ruins; Punta de Vacas, from where the Tupungato Hill can be observed, Los Penitentes ski centre, and Puente del Inca, famous for their hot baths, among others.

Upon arrival at the De la Cumbre Pass and the border village called Las Cuevas (Argentinean-Chilean border), impressive views of the Aconcagua mountain (the highest in the Americas) can be enjoyed.

Time and weather permitting, the majestic image of Christ the Redeemer, situated at 4,000 metres above sea level, can be reached.
