Kayaking in Khao Sok National Park

Explore Khao Sok National Park

On arrival at the camp, the morning's activities take you on an exploration of the tropical rainforest of Khao Sok National Park. You explore the rivers that cut through the mangrove forest in a small motorised dinghy. For those that would like to explore the smaller creeks, observe a variety of birdlife and get even closer to nature there are self paddle canoes available with life jackets should you care to embark on a further adventure.

You spend the afternoon on a deserted beach where you can swim, relax or paddle a canoe whilst enjoying the panoramic views of mangroves and banyan trees.

After lunch take a canoe for your journey down the Sok River. The canoes are very safe and life jackets are provided as well as a local river guide to paddle the canoe. Drift along passing rainforest shores, limestone mountains and cliffs covered with tropical vegetation. It is sometimes possible to see hornbills flying high overhead or reptiles basking in the sun on the riverbanks. From the canoe you can experience and enjoy some of the last surviving areas of primary rainforest.

This is a wonderful opportunity to explore the ecology of the rainforest. Observe the variety of exotic plants and tropical hardwood trees such as orchids, palms, ferns, bamboos and mosses. You'll also have the opportunity to see wildlife such as gibbons, macaques and leaf monkeys as well as a variety of birdlife like hornbills.
