Copal Tree Lodge

Located just ten minutes from Punta Gorda in the Toledo District of Belize, Copal Tree Lodge is peacefully located surrounded by pristine rainforest set in a 50-square-kilometre reserve. There are just 12 air-conditioned beautifully decorated spacious suites with huge bathrooms. All have stunning views of the forest from the enclosed netted veranda in the room and are very private. There is a swimming pool and spa for relaxing after exploring the area, and a private tram that takes you on a ten-minute ride down to the side of the Rio Grande River at the bottom of the property. Complimentary use of mountain bikes and canoes are on offer.

You can spot a wide variety of bird and wildlife onsite with their expert guides and the lodge arranges a diverse range of excursions throughout the area from cultural excursions such as visiting Maya ruins to snorkelling on the Snake cayes, chocolate tours, jungle tours, hiking on trails, night walks, river cruises, fishing and scuba diving. (Please note that most excursions have additional fees to be paid locally unless pre-booked.)

The food served in the restaurant is absolutely delicious. Breakfasts and lunches are generally buffet style, with dinner being a three-course gourmet affair.
