Fasano Rio

Fasano Rio

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Fasano Rio fills an obvious gap in Rio’s hotel market by providing something chic in style with all the amenities of a cosmopolitan hotel.

Located at the far end of Ipanema Beach where it meets Copacabana Beach, the hotel has unmatched views over this stretch of coastline.

The Fasano was designed by Philippe Starck, something reflected in its elegant and understated décor. It includes original artwork from the 1950s and 1960s and the eclectic but complimenting use of a variety of fabrics, woods, and textures.

OUR OPINION:

A firm rival to the traditional Copacabana Palace in amenities, the Fasano is a stylish property, and is the ideal place to spend an afternoon in the pool with a caipirinha in hand, looking over the white sands of Ipanema's long beach.

Rooms

Its rooms and suites all have private terraces and all the amenities expected from a hotel of this quality. The deluxe rooms and suites have been designed to ensure that the sea can be seen from any position, including from the bathroom. These sea view rooms are some of the most sought after in the city for their sunset views. While the rooms are not the most spacious in the city, they are well-appointed with dark hardwood floors, melted-clock shaped mirrors, and marble bathrooms.

Location

The hotel sits on the far eastern end of Ipanema Beach and its glamorous rooftop pool and bar offers views of some of the most celebrated sites in Rio including the Arpoador Rocks, Dois Irmãos Mountain, and Corcovado Mountain. Its location gives easy access to the tree-lined streets of Ipanema, which are filled with bars, restaurants, and cafés. Copacabana Beach is just around the corner.

Food and drink

The hotel’s restaurant, Fasano Al Mare, offers exquisite Mediterranean cuisine with a focus on seafood. The rooftop bar serves up fresh juice, premium cocktails, and alfresco dining options all day.

Families

Canoodling couples and Brazil’s trendsetting crowd are more likely to be seen by the pool than children splashing around, but the hotel can also provide a special service to accommodate families.

Facilities and activities

The roof boasts an opulent infinity pool, without doubt one of the hotel's highlights. There's also a gym and a spa.
