Located in the heart of Barcelona’s modernist Eixample district, the Ohla Eixample is a chic hotel that features a welcoming lobby that is offset with industrial elements. Designed to combine architectural creativity with modern technology and functionality, the Ohla Eixample makes for an ideal base within the notoriously avant-garde Barcelona.
Each room follows a distinctive open-plan design using polished concrete floors and large windows to create a bright, welcoming space filled with a mix of textures and fabrics. While the rooms are spacious, it is worth noting that the open-plan design also extends to the bathrooms (though not the toilets) so it may not be the best option for those who value privacy.
Just off the lobby, the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant, Xerta, champions local seafood and also features an open central kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work as you enjoy your meal. One of the most memorable spaces in the hotel, however, is the elegant roof terrace with its infinity pool and panoramic views.
With its sharp, modernist decor, the Ohla Eixample is a gorgeous design hotel with great attention to detail. Service is faultless and the food is superb.
