Palmetto Bay Plantation Resort

The Palmetto Bay Plantation Resort is located near Roatán Island’s French Harbour, slightly off the beaten track in a secluded bay. The 29 wooden Caribbean-style cabañas are extremely spacious and designed more like mini-houses with fully equipped kitchens, huge balconies and a living room.

Each is individually decorated with simple furnishings and set among shady palm trees. There is a good restaurant, a small pool and the beach is right on your doorstep. For scuba divers the resort has an onsite dive shop which operates two or three dive boat excursions each day.

As well as diving, guests can enjoy the large beach area and peaceful surroundings or engage in several activities such as snorkelling, kayaking, horseback riding, or seaplane adventures, all of which can be organised by the hotel. They have a boardwalk which extends out to the clearer waters where you can dive in and swim around to witness the marine wildlife. If you are looking for a more lively lodge and location, then this is not for you as the other towns on the island are about half an hour's drive away over bumpy roads to get there.
