Seapoint Boutique Hotel

Seapoint Boutique Hotel

Mauritius

This charming, small boutique hotel is unusual on an island where so many of the accommodation options are larger hotels that are part of an international group. With only 23 rooms it has a laid-back, friendly atmosphere and a quiet location in the northwest corner of the island.

A chic, modern, beach-house design continues the relaxed, beach feel with everything based around the beachfront pool. The small beach cove hosts a variety of water sports and the hotel's proximity to Grand Baie makes it convenient for local restaurants and shops.

OUR OPINION:

With so many large, international resorts in Mauritius, we were delighted to find this boutique hotel. With a chic, modern décor, relaxed feel and convenient location close to Grand Baie, it's a great value option for those who prefer smaller properties.

Rooms

There are just 23 rooms at the hotel, decorated in a fresh, modern, beach-house style, and all offering air conditioning, television, minibar, tea/coffee facilities and safe. Although all rooms face the pool and the sea, not all have full sea views.

Location

Seapoint Boutique Hotel is located on the northwestern tip of the island at the end of the coastal road. Set in a quiet residential area, it's within easy reach of lively Grand Baie with plenty of restaurants, shops and bars just a short taxi ride away.

The hotel sits on a small, rocky beach cove of white sand, fringed by trees. Just 15 minutes’ walk or five minutes’ drive away, Mon Choisy beach offers a long, beautiful stretch of beach ideal for a swim or a stroll.

Food and drink

The restaurant and bar continues the relaxed, beach house style of the rest of the hotel and there are also some tables available by the pool and on the beach. It's open for buffet breakfast, à la carte lunch and table d'hote dinner with simple Mauritian cuisine along with international dishes and the catch of the day.

Please note, no shorts, T-shirts or bare feet are allowed in the bars and restaurants in the evenings.

Families

The hotel is only suitable for older children who must be at least 12 years old.

Facilities and activities

There is a beachfront pool overlooking the sea and stand-up paddleboards, sea kayaks and bicycles are available free of charge. Snorkelling equipment is also available for a charge and the hotel also arranges regular snorkelling activities that can be booked and paid for locally.

There is a small, two room spa at the hotel offering a range of massage and beauty therapies.

Although there is no diving on site, the hotel is happy to help you arrange diving trips with a local operator in Grand Baie.

Local excursions

The hotel can arrange a range of activities to help you explore the island from catamarans and fishing trips to mountain biking and zip-lining or waterfall hikes.
