Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival in Cape Town, your family will be met by an Audley representative and then driven to your hotel in a private vehicle. Your hotel has been selected for its family-friendly amenities, like babysitting services and kitchen and living room, so you can make yourselves right at home. After checking in, the rest of the day is free to relax after your flight or begin your exploration of Cape Town.

  • Begin today with a private guided hike up Table Mountain for spectacular views over the city and sea. You're collected from your hotel and driven to the lower cable car station, ready for your ascent. Your guide then leads you up steep, rocky trails to the mountain's summit, with plenty of stops, drinks, and snacks available along the way. You take the cable car back down the mountain. In the afternoon, you have many other options for staying busy, including seeing Cape Town on foot, kayaking in Table Bay, or snorkelling with sea lions. You can also opt to relax at Camps Bay or Clifton Beach.

  • Get a feel for life in Cape Town as you and your family hop on bikes — your cooperation skills will be tested because they’ll be tandems. You'll begin with a leisurely ride along the Sea Point promenade, taking in the soothing ocean on one side and the bustling city on the other. Soak up the sun and the atmosphere before stopping for coffee and a snack with the locals before a gentle ride back to the starting point at the V&A Waterfront.

  • We’ve chosen some activities we have enjoyed with our families, led by specialist local guides who take you away from the crowds without missing the Cape Peninsula's highlights. Today's tour can be tailored hour-by-hour and feature anything from visiting a penguin colony and stand-up paddleboarding to taking part in an uplifting community project visit.

  • Today, you will all board a domestic flight to Skukuza Airport, where you will be met by a representative from your lodge. On the hour-long drive from the airport to the lodge, you can compete to see who spots the first animals. Upon arrival, your family will settle into your suite. This afternoon, you embark on your first safari drive in the park with a knowledgeable guide who can help track wildlife and tell you more about each species.

  • Today you are at leisure on safari. There are two safari drives today, one in the early morning and the second in the late afternoon. After your morning safari drive, you will return to the lodge for a scrumptious breakfast. In the afternoon, you can choose to spend family time in the pool, or the kids can head off to the EleFun Children's Centre, with plenty of indoor and outdoor facilities to keep them happily busy for hours. This evening, you head back out for your second safari drive of the day.

  • Savour another day of safari drives and quality family time. On today's drive, children can practice being guides by helping to go in search of the creatures that make up the Little Five, including the elephant shrew, leopard tortoise, and rhinoceros beetle.

  • This morning, you're collected and transferred by private vehicle to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. The journey takes around two hours through Mpumalanga's rural areas. At the airport, you board your hour-and-a-half flight to Livingstone, Zambia, ready for the final stretch of your adventure — Victoria Falls. Upon arrival, you're met by an Audley representative and driven in a shared vehicle to your lodge. The journey takes around an hour, cutting through Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, so keep your eyes peeled for any passing wildlife. You will arrive at the lodge in time for a relaxing afternoon, trying to spot animals from the pool.

  • Today will include an unforgettable visit to the mighty Victoria Falls. If the water level is right, a private guide will accompany you to the Devil’s Pool for a daring dip at the falls' edge.

  • Enjoy one last breakfast together on what has been an incredible family journey before being driven to the airport for your onward flight. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
