Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Longyearbyen. Arrive in Longyearbyen and transfer to your hotel.

After a morning exploring Longyearbyen and the excellent museum, you will board the ship and set sail along the fjord. (Twin private cabin with window included in this itinerary). The itinerary we have included here is what you are likely to do, but please bear in mind that all plans are subject to change by the captain and expedition leader, depending on conditions at the time.

Visit the 14th July Glacier and the research base of Ny Alesund.

Explore the whaling station at Smeerenburg.

Experience the surreal ice sculptures of Sparreneset.

Visit the northern island of Phippsoya.

Keep an eye open for polar bears on Kvitoya.

Beluga whales are often in the waters here and the best place to see them is from the deck.

Reach the most southerly point as you round the southwestern corner of Spitsbergen.

Sailing up through dramatic scenery you make your way north again toward Longyearbyen. Disembark in Longyearbyen and fly south to Oslo to continue your homeward journey. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
