St Vincent is a mountainous, volcanic island and is the largest of the 32 islands that make up St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Kingstown, the capital, also known as 'The City of Arches' is a bustling and lively place, with cobbled streets, magnificent churches and historic buildings. Most of the island is still covered in lush vegetation, and remains mostly undeveloped for tourism.

The east coast of the island is steep and rocky, while the west coast offers sandy beaches and sweeping bays.

La Soufrière volcano, standing 4,049 feet (1,234 metres) high, is an ideal spot to take in panoramic views of the island, for those up to the demanding hike to reach its summit.
