The Siberia Experience offers you a selection of New Zealand's best adventurous activities all in one day.
You begin with a short light aircraft flight from Makarora, which provides you with stunning views of Mount Aspiring National Park and its awesome peaks before you land in the Siberia Valley. Here your pilot will direct you to the walking trail, where you will begin your unaccompanied three-hour walk through beautiful untouched wilderness scenery. The walk is undulating but not strenuous, and you are free to walk at your own pace — there is only one path so you can't go wrong!
When you emerge from the bush you will reach the river, which you follow to the marked meeting place. Here a jet boat will be waiting to transport you along the shallow and braided waters downstream to Makarora, a superb way to take in some more of the scenery as you sit back and enjoy the views.
The trip is weather dependent but is regarded as a real highlight by many who do it.
