Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Victoria Falls.

  • On arrival in Zimbabwe, you will be transferred in a private vehicle to your hotel in the heart of Victoria Falls Town. Enjoy dinner in one of the many restaurants in town or at your hotel.

  • Wander down to the Victoria Falls and enjoy a morning exploring at your own pace. Aside from walking around the falls, helicopter rides offer a great way to see the falls in all their glory. This afternoon, we recommend enjoying the African sunset on a boat cruise; keep your eyes peeled for elephants, hippos and a variety of birdlife.

  • A driver will collect you from your hotel and drive you to the entry to Hwange National Park along a tar road. At Hwange Main Camp you’ll meet a guide and change vehicles into an open 4x4 — your safari begins here as you make your way through the national park to your lodge.

  • Enjoy your first full day on safari. This morning, your guide will take you on a game drive on the lodge's concession, searching for wildlife. Along the way, you’ll stop for refreshments before heading back to the lodge to relax in the heat of the day. As the temperatures start to cool, your guide will take you back out into the private concession for your afternoon drive.

  • While in Hwange National Park, we’d recommend joining your guide on a walking safari. You’ll follow any tracks or signs you find, so you may end up viewing a herd of elephants just a few metres away.

  • Take a light aircraft transfer to Lake Kariba. On arrival, you’ll be driven to your lodge where you’re staying for the next three nights. This afternoon, enjoy a sunset cruise on Lake Kariba and witness the stunning colours across the water.

  • Enjoy a day exploring the lake today. A guide will take you to the petrified forest and down small channels in search of wonderful birdlife and animals drinking in the shallows. Game drives are also on offer from the lodge into the Matusadona National Park, or you can simply relax on your balcony taking in the expansive views of the lake.

  • During your stay, you’ll have the opportunity to try your hand at fishing and potentially catch your evening meal. In the evenings, we’d recommend joining your guide for some spectacular stargazing.

  • Today you’ll take a light aircraft flight into the wilds of Mana Pools in the northeast of the country. After settling in, you’ll head out on an afternoon activity.

  • Enjoy a whole day of safari activities. Game drives explore the woodland, open plains and riverbanks. Mana is well known for its elephants, which stand on their hind legs to reach the tall trees. It also has excellent populations of buffalo, lion, leopard, giraffe, eland and more.

  • Another full day of safari activities. You may wish to go on a walking safari or take a boat trip on the river to see crocodiles and hippos. Mana has some wonderful birdlife, with species including malachite kingfishers, saddle-billed storks, spoonbills and the migratory carmine bee-eaters.

  • Take a light aircraft flight out of Mana Pools across rural Zimbabwe to Harare to connect with your onward travel arrangements.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
